Explorer Program offers hands on training and mentorship with Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and staff

Broward County, Florida – The Broward Sheriff’s Office is asking teens and young adults in the area to come to an interest meeting for its Explorer Program on Wednesday, October 1, at 6:30 p.m. The BSO Tamarac District Office, at 7515 NW 88th Avenue, will host the workshop.
This program gives young people who are thinking in professions in law enforcement or criminal justice a route to get there. It gives participants the chance to learn by doing, get advice from deputies and civilian personnel, and see what it’s like to do public safety job every day. The goal of the next meeting is to make sure that families and potential members know exactly what the program is about and how to get started.
The Explorer Program is all about personal growth and focuses on important traits like leadership, responsibility, teamwork, and self-reliance. Members get significant skills through frequent training and community service projects that help local neighborhoods.
By working closely with BSO staff, participants learn not just how law enforcement is set up, but also how to be disciplined and responsible in the field.
