Free Tamarac event in May will blend health screenings, music and stroke prevention education for families
Tamarac, Florida – A day built around music, family time and lifesaving information is set to bring the Tamarac community together in May, as District 2 Commissioner Morey Wright joins Smiley’s Voice Foundation, Inc. for a free event centered on stroke awareness and prevention.
Scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2026, the Stroke Awareness & Prevention Health Fair and Family Fun Day will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Tamarac Recreation Center, 7501 N. University Dr.
Organizers are inviting residents to spend the day enjoying a welcoming community atmosphere while also taking simple but important steps toward protecting their health.
The gathering is designed to blend education with entertainment, giving families a chance to learn more about stroke prevention in a setting that feels open, active and accessible.

Guests can expect health screenings, giveaways, food and live music throughout the event, creating a full afternoon that offers both practical resources and a chance to connect with neighbors.
At its heart, the event is about making wellness feel reachable.
Rather than placing health conversations in a distant or intimidating space, the fair brings them into the center of the community, where people can ask questions, get screened and leave with information that could make a meaningful difference.
With free admission and activities for all ages, the May 16 event aims to turn awareness into action.
Community members are encouraged to come out, enjoy the day and take part in an effort that places prevention, education and togetherness at the forefront.
