Tamarac festival brings Jamaican food, music and culture together for six-hour community celebration

Tamarac, Florida – The aroma of Jamaican cooking, the sound of Caribbean music, and a crowd ready to celebrate their culture will come together for a special November gathering in Tamarac. For food lovers, it will also be an opportunity to discover new favorites and help decide which vendor deserves bragging rights.

But the celebration goes beyond good food and entertainment. Every ticket sold will help support an organization working to empower women and create opportunities for the next generation.

The Jamaican Women of Florida (JWOF) will host the Run-A-Boat Culture & Food Festival on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at Tamarac Park, bringing six hours of Jamaican traditions, Caribbean cuisine, live performances, and family activities to the city.

Scheduled from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., the festival will take place at 7501 North University Drive in Tamarac, Florida. Organizers are inviting residents, families, and visitors to experience an afternoon built around food, music, and community connections.

One of the festival’s main attractions will be its selection of authentic Jamaican and Caribbean food vendors. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore different dishes while supporting participating businesses.

Food will also take center stage in the People’s Choice Food Competition, where festivalgoers can sample offerings and vote for their favorite vendor. Rather than leaving the decision entirely to judges, the competition gives visitors a direct role in choosing a winner.

The event will feature live music and cultural performances throughout the celebration, adding another dimension to the experience and highlighting the traditions that make Jamaican culture distinctive.

Visitors interested in shopping can explore a Caribbean marketplace featuring vendors, while families with children can spend time in a dedicated Family Fun Zone.

Games, raffles, and giveaways will provide additional entertainment, with organizers emphasizing that the festival is designed for participants of all ages.

Admission prices vary depending on when tickets are purchased. Early-bird tickets cost $15, while regular advance tickets are priced at $20. Those purchasing admission at the gate will pay $25.

Children younger than 10 can enter free, making the festival more accessible to families planning to attend together. Organizers have also specified that ticket purchases are nonrefundable.

Beyond the entertainment, the festival serves an important fundraising purpose.

JWOF is a nonprofit organization focused on empowering, mentoring, and celebrating women while supporting community development and younger generations. Proceeds from the festival will benefit the organization’s scholarship initiatives and other programs.

That connection between cultural celebration and educational opportunity is a central part of the event’s mission. Attendees can enjoy an afternoon of Caribbean traditions while contributing to programs intended to make a difference beyond the festival itself.

Residents interested in attending can find event details and purchase tickets through the official Run-A-Boat Culture & Food Festival Eventbrite page.

With food competitions, cultural entertainment, shopping, and family activities planned, the November 14 gathering offers Tamarac residents a chance to celebrate Jamaican heritage while supporting JWOF’s continued community work.
