Broward County water parks operational during weekends this month, full season starts early June

Broward County, Florida – Though school might still be in session, Broward County’s water parks have already started their weekend splash season. Splash Adventure at Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach, Paradise Cove at C.B. Smith Park in Pembroke Pines, and Castaway Island at T.Y. Park in Hollywood will be open every Saturday and Sunday and continuing through Sunday, June 1, plus Memorial Day on Monday, May 26. Opening at 10 a.m. and closing at 5:20 p.m., all three parks provide lots of time for families and thrill-seekers to cool off before the summer heat really comes.
Visitors at Paradise Cove can run down the four twisting tubes of the Paradise Pipeline—each five stories high—before diving into a four-foot-deep pool. Ranging from 395 to 430 feet, the slides are driven by 400 gallons of water per minute. Riders had to be at least 42 inches tall, under 250 pounds, and able to swim. $10 for those coming after 3 p.m., or $15 for a whole day.
Splash Adventure turns the beach at Quiet Waters Park into a vibrant kids’ play area. In water no deeper than 12 inches, a system of slides, tunnels, water spouts and a huge drenching bucket keeps young children occupied. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult; lifeguards are always watching. While afternoon pass holders (after 3 p.m.) pay $4.40, all-day tickets are $6.
With a big lagoon for swimmers of all ages, two wading pools for children and interactive elements like palm-shaped sprayers, rain curtains and water cannons, Castaway Island at T.Y. Park provides a Caribbean flavor to Hollywood. Access for a full day is $10; after 3 p.m., it costs $6.

Though Central Broward Park’s Tropical Splash is closed for the season, the three weekend parks’ concessions will be operational, providing snacks and drinks. Guests who have been at the park less than two hours (or less than one hour for after-3 p.m. arrivals) will get rain checks if storms sweep in and the lightning detection system flashes. Families can rent Funbrella shade structures—which let them keep out of the sun—online using WebTrac or by phoning the park administration.
There are also season passes available. While Silver plans include Castaway Island, Bronze passes cover simply Splash Adventure. Gold memberships open all three weekend parks, including Paradise Cove. An individual Bronze pass starts at $45; a six-person Gold family package tops out at $468.

All three parks go to a complete seven-day schedule from Wednesday, June 4, through Sunday, August 10 once school is out. With particular dog-friendly activities in October, they will then go back to weekend-only hours until September 28. Families can, however, mark their calendars for every weekend splash session until June 1 since those relaxed Saturday and Sunday afternoons were created for cannonballs and sun-soaked enjoyment.
