City of Pompano Beach invites nonprofits to apply for partnerships supporting workforce and community programs

Pompano Beach, Florida – The City of Pompano Beach is preparing to open the door once again for nonprofit organizations seeking to partner with the city in delivering programs that support residents and strengthen the community.

Beginning April 6 and continuing through May 1, nonprofit groups will be able to submit partnership requests for the Fiscal Year 2026–2027 funding cycle through the city’s online portal at http://pompanobeachfl.gov/community.

City officials accept nonprofit partnership proposals once each year, using the process to identify organizations that can provide services and initiatives benefiting local residents.

The program focuses on efforts that complement city services or fill important gaps where municipal programs are not currently available.

Organizations applying are also expected to align their work with the city’s long-term vision outlined in its Strategic Plan 2021–2036 while celebrating the diverse cultural character that defines Pompano Beach.

The nonprofit partnership program will be administered by Strategic Philanthropy, Inc., which is managing the process on behalf of the city.

Due to the high volume of applications typically received, Pompano Beach has narrowed its funding focus to two central priorities designed to advance community progress: Workforce-focused Excellence and Community-focused Excellence.

The Workforce-focused Excellence strategy emphasizes programs that help residents prepare for employment and career growth.

This includes initiatives offering vocational training, job placement assistance, and technical skills development for both high school students and adult residents. Programs that help strengthen job-seeking skills, connect employers with qualified workers, and support small business development are also encouraged.

Additional focus areas include educational support for students and teachers, financial literacy training, and technology-driven learning opportunities such as STEM, cybersecurity, and e-sports programs that spark career interests among young people.

Meanwhile, the Community-focused Excellence strategy highlights services that support the well-being of residents across all stages of life. Behavioral health programs aimed at addressing mental health challenges, substance use disorders, and community violence prevention are among the key priorities.

The city is also seeking initiatives that support senior residents by helping them maintain independence through services such as transportation, meal assistance, and healthy living programs.

Community events and cultural preservation efforts are also part of the city’s vision. Nonprofits that organize events capable of drawing visitors, stimulating economic activity, or celebrating Pompano Beach’s cultural heritage are encouraged to apply.
