City of Tamarac announces community meetings to discuss city projects and plans

Tamarac, Florida – The City of Tamarac is calling on its residents to participate actively in shaping the future of their community through a series of Neighborhood District Meetings. These meetings are a platform for the public to engage directly with city officials, discuss ongoing projects, and contribute to the city’s vision.

Meeting Schedule and Opportunities

The series will launch with the Neighborhood District 2 Meeting, set for Wednesday, May 1, at 6:30 p.m., and will be hosted by Mayor Michelle J. Gomez and Vice Mayor Morey Wright at the Tamarac Community Center, located at 8601 W. Commercial Blvd.

This initial session marks the beginning of a month-long initiative designed to facilitate open dialogue between city officials and Tamarac residents.

The discussion continues at the Neighborhood District 3 Meeting on Monday, May 13, at 6:30 p.m. This session, led by Mayor Michelle J. Gomez and District 3 Commissioner Elvin Villalobos, will take place at the Palace Theatre at Kings Point, 7620 N. Nob Hill Road. Attendees are encouraged to bring their questions and suggestions, enhancing the community’s involvement in local governance.

As the initiative progresses, the Neighborhood District 1 Meeting will occur on Wednesday, May 22, at 6:30 p.m., featuring Mayor Michelle J. Gomez and District 1 Commissioner Marlon D. Bolton. This meeting will be held at the Mainlands I & II Civic Association, 4301 Mainland Drive, focusing on the specific needs and ideas pertinent to District 1.

Concluding the series, the Neighborhood District 4 Meeting will take place on Thursday, May 30, at 6:30 p.m., hosted by Mayor Michelle J. Gomez and District 4 Commissioner Kicia Daniel at the Colony West Golf Club, 6850 NW 88th Ave.

This final gathering will wrap up the month’s discussions, offering one last chance for residents to voice their opinions and learn about upcoming projects and plans.
