Tamarac sends summer out with a splash at a free back-to-school pool event at the Caporella Aquatic Center

Tamarac, Florida – Summer in Tamarac is not ending quietly. Before backpacks return, alarms start ringing and classrooms fill again, local families will have one more chance to trade the school routine for swimsuits, music and an afternoon by the pool.

The City of Tamarac is inviting residents to “Make a Splash Before Class,” a free event built around the final days of summer vacation. The celebration will take place Saturday, August 1, at the Caporella Aquatic Center, giving children, parents and friends a sunny sendoff before the school bell rings.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the aquatic center, located at 9300 NW 58th St. Families can expect swimming, music and time to relax together while summer is still hanging on.

Admission is free, but advance registration is required. To manage attendance, the city has divided the event into two sessions. Session I will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m., while Session II will begin at noon and continue until 1:30 p.m.

Participants may register for only one session, so families will need to select the time that works best for them when completing the registration process. Event registration and additional information are available at Tamarac.me/Events.

One part of the aquatic center will not be available during the celebration. The children’s activity area, also known as the splash pad, will be closed because of renovation work. The main event, however, will continue with pool activities and entertainment planned for registered guests.

The timing gives Tamarac families a simple way to mark the changing season. August often arrives with school preparations already underway, but the city’s event creates a brief pause between summer freedom and the return of schedules, homework and early mornings.

With two 90-minute sessions, free admission and activities centered on the water, “Make a Splash Before Class” offers families one final summer outing without leaving the city. The message behind the event is equally straightforward: enjoy the sunshine, gather with family and friends, and send summer off with one last splash.
