Broward Sheriff’s Office highlights crime prevention efforts over pasta and questions

Broward County, Florida – Residents of Tamarac will have the chance to sit down with their local deputies over dinner this September as the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) hosts its upcoming community gathering, Grab a Bite with BSO. The event aims to connect neighbors and first responders in a relaxed setting, encouraging open conversations about public safety and daily life in the community.

The gathering will take place on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Mannino’s Italian Restaurant, located at 10012 W. McNab Road. Guests will be responsible for their own meals, but the dialogue with deputies is free and open to everyone. The evening is designed to foster transparency and create opportunities for residents to ask questions directly to those who serve their neighborhoods.

Organizers emphasize that the event is more than just a dinner—it’s a way for the community to see firsthand the role deputies play in keeping Tamarac safe. BSO staff will be on hand to answer questions, discuss concerns, and highlight ongoing efforts in crime prevention and community safety. The casual atmosphere allows for one-on-one conversations that might not happen in formal meetings or public hearings.

This initiative reflects BSO’s broader goal of building trust and maintaining strong ties with the public. By creating accessible spaces for interaction, the sheriff’s office hopes to strengthen relationships and address local concerns before they become larger issues. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to connect with the deputies who work daily to protect and serve.
