City of Tamarac hosts free community workshop to confront and prevent domestic violence

Tamarac, Florida – The Tamarac Community Center will soon host an important event to talk about a problem that is too frequently hidden behind closed doors: domestic violence. On Monday, June 23, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., local residents are welcome to come to a special session about awareness, prevention, and assistance for people who have been affected by domestic abuse.
The City of Tamarac’s Parks and Recreation Department is putting on the event at 8601 West Commercial Boulevard. People from all walks of life are welcome to attend, whether they are looking for help, want to help someone in need, or just want to learn more about how to be part of the solution.
Professionals who have worked with domestic abuse victims will lead conversations during the 90-minute event. People who come will learn how to spot the indications of abuse, how to safely intervene, and what resources are available in their area for victims and their families.
The workshop is meant to be more than just a presentation. People who come should expect to be able to ask questions and have guided discussions in a safe and friendly environment. Organizers will also give materials and information to take home, which will assist the session have a bigger effect than just the event itself.
