Investigators increase reward in hopes of solving Florida Turnpike double homicide

Hollywood, Florida – The double homicide on the Florida Turnpike, where a mother, Beatrice Saintvil, and her 4-year-old daughter, Janelle Souffrant, were fatally shot, prompted a significant response from law enforcement.

Increasing the Reward

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has joined forces with local authorities, adding an additional $10,000 to the reward for information leading to an arrest, bringing the total reward to $20,000. This move underscores the urgency and seriousness of the case as investigators work tirelessly to bring responsible individuals to justice.

Details of the Incident

The event unfolded shortly after 11:50 p.m. on Friday, June 7, when the Florida Highway Patrol received reports of a shooting. They discovered Saintvil and her daughter inside their vehicle, which was parked in the left breakdown lane of the northbound section near Mile Marker 49, just south of Hollywood Boulevard. Unfortunately, Souffrant was pronounced dead at the scene, and her mother succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital.

Call for Public Assistance

The Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit took over the investigation from the FHP. Detective Ryan Schnakenberg is leading the investigation and is actively seeking information from the public.
