One Tamarac Multicultural Festival returns on February 8 with global performances and food delights

Tamarac, Florida – With the long awaited One Tamarac Multicultural Festival back on Saturday, February 8th, the City of Tamarac is poised to turn the Tamarac Sports Complex into a hub of cultural interaction and enjoyment. Beginning at 4 p.m. at 9901 NW 77th Street, this family-friendly event is open to all and free of charge, providing a rich tapestry of experiences honoring the many cultures forming the vibrant community.
No passport? No problem! Festival attendees will be able to start a worldwide adventure without leaving the city. From the energetic Venezuelan Danza Y Tambor to the rhythmic beats of Thai Nattasin, the festival schedule features a range of cultural events that promise to dazzle. Between 5:00 and 6:30 p.m., the Voces De America, Drake Irish Dance School, and the Junkanoo Band will also grace the community stage exhibiting traditional dances and music from their respective cultures.
The array of foreign tastes on hand will thrill both foodies and gastronomic explorers. There will be more than 15 food trucks lining the site offering anything from cool frozen specialties to fiery Caribbean cuisine. Through their distinctive menus, these mobile gourmet chefs offer a glimpse of the variety of the world.
The kid’s zone will have bounce houses, face painting, and life-sized lawn activities to provide lots of entertainment for youngsters. For a hands-on learning experience, families can also participate in tabletop arts and crafts projects reflecting many ethnic themes. There will also be photo sessions with performers so people can capture memories of their multicultural adventures.
With performances that will have everyone moving to the beat, the musical entertainment is scheduled to be the evening’s high point. With their explosive Latin percussion rhythms, Phil Cachi Velez and his group, Cachi Y Saoco Nuevo, will energize the audience. As the sun sets, the atmosphere will shift to nostalgic melodies with Dancing on the Ceiling, an 8-piece tribute band, bringing to life the iconic hits of Lionel Richie and The Commodores.

Due to limited on-site parking, free shuttle service will be available to and from several locations, including Tamarac City Hall and the Tamarac Community Center, ensuring easy access for all guests. To handle the expected significant crowd, extra shuttles from the Caporella Park Overflow Lot will also be available.
