Florida – A Florida resident has admitted to charges related to the distribution of a dangerous drug, marking a significant development in a federal operation aimed at combating the spread of fentanyl.
Guilty Plea in Fentanyl Distribution Case
Sudiata Neket Zanja Stinson, 47, from Vero Beach, Florida, has entered a guilty plea for two counts of distributing fentanyl. This plea comes after allegations that in April 2023, Stinson sold a total of approximately 20 grams of the potent synthetic opioid during two separate transactions.

While a date for Stinson’s sentencing hearing is yet to be scheduled, he is currently facing up to 40 years in federal prison.
The conviction of Stinson is a direct outcome of a collaborative effort by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office (IRCSO), highlighting the ongoing commitment of federal and local law enforcement agencies to reduce the distribution of fentanyl within communities.

The announcement of Stinson’s guilty plea was made by U.S. Attorney Markenzy Lapointe for the Southern District of Florida, DEA Special Agent in Charge Deanne L. Reuter of the Miami Field Division, and Sheriff Eric Flowers of the IRCSO. DEA Miami Field Division, Port St. Lucie Resident Office, and IRCSO were in charge of the investigation.
