Pompano Beach’s long-planned downtown transformation enters a new phase with construction proposals now invited
Pompano Beach, Florida – A major step in the long-planned transformation of Downtown Pompano Beach is now underway, as the project’s master developer has opened the door for construction bids on a key first phase of infrastructure work.
RP Pompano, LLC, also known as RocaPoint Partners, announced the release of Request for Proposals No. 02-2026 in coordination with the City of Pompano Beach and the Pompano Beach Community Redevelopment Agency.
The move marks the beginning of a foundational stage for the New Downtown, a public-private effort intended to create a more active center for civic services, neighborhood life, and future investment.
The contractor selected through the process will take on the full build-out of Phase I infrastructure, providing the labor, equipment, tools, and materials needed to prepare the area for what comes next.
While the broader vision for the district stretches into the future, this portion of the work is focused on the groundwork that must come first.
That includes demolition and site clearing, as well as grading, utility installation, stormwater improvements, paving, curb and gutter work, sidewalks, hardscape features, landscaping, irrigation, and lighting. In practical terms, it is the kind of behind-the-scenes construction that shapes everything that follows.
Before a downtown can grow into a thriving destination, it needs streets, systems, and public spaces that are built to support that growth.
Project leaders say this first infrastructure package is meant to create the framework for a new urban core in Pompano Beach, one designed to serve residents, attract activity, and support economic momentum over time.
