Tamarac looks to community feedback as roadway improvement talks begin for NW 57th Street
Tamarac, Florida – Tamarac residents will have a chance to help shape the future of one of the city’s important corridors during an upcoming public meeting focused on possible improvements along NW 57th Street.
The City of Tamarac is inviting the community to attend the NW 57th Street Roadway Improvement Corridor Project Public Meeting on Thursday, June 11, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Tamarac Community Center, located at 8601 W. Commercial Boulevard.
The discussion will center on the area from Pine Island Road to University Drive, where Tamarac is exploring roadway improvements as part of a broader, long-standing vision for the corridor. City staff will use the meeting to share information about the proposed scope and objectives, while residents will be able to ask questions and provide feedback directly during the session.

The public meeting is tied to a proposed REV grant application that could help move planning efforts forward. City officials have made clear that community input is an important part of that process. Public engagement is not only encouraged, but also required as part of the grant application effort.
For residents, the meeting offers a direct way to understand what the city is considering and to speak up before any major decisions are made. The city is asking the public to share ideas, concerns and questions as Tamarac looks at what the corridor could become in the years ahead.

The meeting is also meant to keep expectations clear. The grant has not been awarded, and funding is not guaranteed. Even if the city receives the grant, the money would not be available until FY2036. Because of that, the meeting is for planning and discussion purposes only. It does not mean the project is currently funded, approved or underway.
Still, the gathering marks an important step in the early planning process. By bringing residents into the conversation now, Tamarac is giving the community a voice in a future project that could affect daily travel, neighborhood access and the look and feel of the NW 57th Street corridor.
