City of Tamarac welcomes community to evening of Juneteenth festivities and cultural appreciation
Tamarac, Florida – The City of Tamarac is preparing to celebrate Juneteenth with an evening dedicated to culture, history, music, food, and community engagement as residents gather for a special Community & Culture Block Party.
The event is scheduled for June 19 at the Tamarac Village Amphitheater, located at 9090 NW 57th Street. Featured activities will begin at 6 p.m., offering attendees an opportunity to reflect on the significance of Juneteenth while enjoying a variety of cultural experiences and entertainment.
Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and has become an important occasion for honoring African American history, resilience, and achievements. City leaders say the celebration is intended to recognize that legacy while bringing the community together in a festive and welcoming environment.
Food, music, and cultural experiences planned
One of the highlights of the evening will be the “Freedom Feast,” an interactive culinary experience created by Chef Nicholas Sayles. Guests will have the opportunity to sample a variety of flavorful dishes as part of the celebration.
Attendees will also be able to visit a Black-owned marketplace featuring businesses, community organizations, and cultural groups from across the region. Participating organizations will include ROC Art & Culture, Innergy Dance Co., the Double Dutch Club, Historically African American Greek-letter organizations, and other community partners.
Organizers say the marketplace is designed to showcase entrepreneurship, cultural expression, and community involvement while providing opportunities for residents to connect with local organizations.
Entertainment will play a major role throughout the evening as well.

Special guest INTRO will also perform, adding to a lineup focused on celebrating music and culture.
In addition to the headline performers, local step teams, dance groups, and cultural artists will take the stage throughout the event. Their performances will help honor the history and traditions associated with Juneteenth while showcasing local talent.
