Broward County, Florida – Residents of Broward County are being advised that most County government offices will be closed for the approaching Christmas and New Year’s Day celebrations. To let county workers and their families enjoy the festive season, the closures will take place on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 and Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Many online services will still be available even with closures, giving residents the ease of access to information and services via the County website, Broward.org.
Critical point of contact for county services, the 311 Call Center will not be open on these days. To help individuals in need, the Homeless Helpline will, however, offer after-hours assistance from 10 AM to 2 PM. Residents dealing with homelessness-related crises during these hours can call 954-563-4357 for assistance.
Libraries throughout Broward County, including the joint-use facility at Nova Southeastern University, will likewise mark the holidays by closing doors. Although physical access to books and other materials will be restricted, the digital catalog and many online services including eBook lending and free classes will run regularly through the County’s dedicated library portal.
Parks and recreational facilities will have different timetables for outdoor enthusiasts. Even though all regional and neighborhood parks, nature centers, and natural areas will close on Christmas Day, they will welcome guests on New Year’s Day with some restrictions. Notably, the Markham Target Range will operate on New Year’s Eve from 9 AM to 4 PM but will close on the holidays. For information on holiday hours, visit the Parks and Recreation website or address park-related questions for specific amenities to their individual contacts.
On both Christmas and New Year’s Day, Broward County Transit (BCT) will modify its operations to reflect a Sunday holiday schedule. Although customer service agents will be on hand to help with trip planning and supply information on bus and paratransit services, administrative offices for the transit authority will be closed.

Travelers can still check the airport websites for flight and facility information or call airport personnel around-the-clock for general questions.
Port Everglades will run marine operations around-the-clock and maintain doors open to renters. Likewise, public access to basic services including those offered by the Nancy J.
