Tamarac teachers invited to enjoy free appreciation BBQ at Tamarac Park

Tamarac, Florida – Tamarac teachers and school support staff are being invited to step away from the classroom for an afternoon built around food, music and appreciation.
Commissioner Dr. Kicia Daniel will host a free Teacher Appreciation BBQ on Saturday, May 23, from noon to 3 p.m. at Tamarac Park, located at 7501 N. University Drive.
The in-person event is being planned as a relaxed community gathering where educators can enjoy a break, spend time with colleagues and friends, and be recognized for the work they do every day.
The city’s message is simple: “Calling all Tamarac teachers!”

The three-hour celebration will feature great food, live music, games and giveaways, creating a casual setting for teachers and support staff to feel celebrated outside the usual pace of the school year.
Organizers described the event as a chance to come hungry, unwind and enjoy an afternoon dedicated to the people who help shape students’ lives across the community.

The gathering is also intended to bring educators together in a friendly setting, giving them time to connect with one another away from classrooms, meetings and daily responsibilities. With music, food and activities planned throughout the afternoon, the event aims to offer both thanks and a little fun.
