Trump might not be as healthy as it seems, the latest health report shows

Florida – President Donald Trump had his annual medical at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center last week, showing a primarily good health with a few noticeable deviations before departing for yet another weekend in Florida. White House doctor Capt. Sean Barbabella released a thorough three-page report on Sunday morning detailing the outcomes of the comprehensive evaluation done this past Friday.

Barbabella claims that at 78, the oldest person to take the presidency, President Trump still shows “excellent cognitive and physical health” and is completely fit for office. Overall, Barbabella consider Trump to be in great health, but the truth is in the details, especially when one reads in the report from beginning to end.

“President Trump remains in excellent health, exhibiting robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and general physical function,” said the White House physician. “His active lifestyle continues to contribute significantly to his well-being.” This assessment comes at a crucial time, as Trump’s health has been under intense scrutiny following an assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, last July.

The test was comprehensive, including several health indicators revealing notable progress over prior years. Weighing 224 pounds, President Trump has shed 20 pounds since 2020. His LDL cholesterol—commonly known as “bad” cholesterol—has also dropped to an ideal range, partly because of his continuous pharmaceutical program of rosuvastatin and ezetimibe, a new addition since his last report.

Although the general report was quite good, it is not without issues. The examination showed certain anomalies, including scarring on the right ear, a leftover consequence of the gunshot wound he suffered during the assassination attempt. Barbabella observed this damage to be fortunate as it has not affected his hearing.

Trump’s colon showed diverticulosis and a benign polyp, found during a July colonoscopy, which was another noteworthy discovery. A disorder that usually calls for monitoring, diverticulosis is characterized by the development of uncommon pouches in the digestive tract. The White House physician has recommended a follow-up colonoscopy in three years to ensure there are no further issues.

On the cognitive front, Trump appears to be in good standing. The president’s neurological exam revealed no abnormalities in his mental status, Barbabella confirmed.

Trump himself boasted about his cognitive abilities, telling reporters, “I took a cognitive test. And I don’t know what to tell you, other than I got every answer right.” He also shared details about undergoing various other tests related to his heart and other health aspects.

Trump is said to still find time for leisure pursuits like golf, where he still finds success despite the great responsibilities of his position including regular meetings, public appearances, and press conferences.

Historically, many have chosen to keep these information secret; presidents have no obligation to disclose their medical records. Though it could have political consequences, Trump’s decision to publish his medical results shows an openness that fits the office’s previous history of revealing health data. The thorough report emphasizes a holistic strategy for tracking and preserving the health of a president who has already noted his place as the oldest in American history.
